Don't miss it in Grenada: St George

Grenada: Triple threat yachting destination

The hidden treasure in Grenada is its sublime landscape that envelopes its three islands. First discovered by Christopher Columbus, this formidable trio has long been the object of bitter struggles because its capital has a natural port where ships can take shelter in case of bad weather. The most popular beaches are located in the southwest of the island. This is precisely where Grand Anse Beach is located, a 3km long beach that is considered one of the most beautiful in the world. Embark on a yacht charter in Grenada and explore Grenada, Carriacou and Little Martinique.

Three reasons to choose yacht charter in Grenada

1. Enjoy the sun in winter

It's winter in France, it's cold, the weather is dull and it makes you feel gloomy too... Our solution? Charter a yacht in the West Indies to relax and sail under the sun in azure-blue water. The added extra: you will come back from your holidays relaxed and tanned… enough to make your colleagues jealous when you return to work!

2. Heavenly landscapes

Worthy of a postcard setting, the landscapes of the West Indies will leave you speechless: totally unspoilt, wild vegetation; white and black sand and pebble beaches; transparent and turquoise waters; mountainous terrains... At sea or in the mountains, this surprising environment is home to a rich fauna and flora. On land and at sea, let yourself be bewitched by so much beauty.

3. Highest-quality professional rental companies

We select the best boats for you from professional Caribbean charter companies. No more unpleasant surprises at the harbour, the fleet selected has passed rigorous quality standards. GlobeSailor has several bases in the West Indies: Le Marin, Marigot, Pointe à Pitre, Bequia, Tortola, Blue Lagoon, Antigua and of course, Grenada.

Climate and weather

The dry season runs from December-January to April-May. The weather is very sunny and it is hot!! This is, of course, the best time for a yacht charter in Grenada.

The rainy season ("green season") occupies roughly the rest of the year, from June-July to November. The Grenada terrain means that it receives a high amount of rain, especially on the northeast coast. The south-western coast - where the beach at Grand Anse lies - receives less than half of the rainfall. The average daytime temperature is 29°C.

Granada is located relatively far away from cyclone routes. For 49 years, there were no significant climatic phenomena in Granada... until the Ivan disaster in 2004. Hurricanes occur over the extended period between June and October.

Top attractions

The capital city of Grenada is Saint George’s, with buildings from the colonial period and the 18th and 19th centuries that were spared by the hurricanes. To discover the culture and history of the country, you should visit the Grenada National Museum and Fort George, which is located at the entrance to the port. Perched on a peninsula that guards the Carenage, the fort offers breath-taking views.

Things to do :

  • Big-game fishing, the national sport

  • Hiking in the mountains and forest

  • Whale and dolphin watching

Book in advance = Savings!

To obtain a cheaper or discounted boat rental, we advise you to book your boat at least six months in advance. Bookings are mainly made outside the hurricane season, from mid-December to the end of May. Therefore, you should remember to book before June. This advance will also allow you to anticipate the price of plane tickets and to stick to your budget. As a travel agency, our GlobeSailor advisors are at your disposal for any enquiries.

You’ve chosen your destination? Don’t hesitate any longer and reserve your boat with GlobeSailor today!
